WIS 13 in Douglas County to reopen later today (Tuesday, July 3)

July 3, 2012

WIS 13 in Douglas County will reopen to through traffic by 8 p.m. today (Tuesday, July 3, 2012). Heavy rains on June 19-20 damaged WIS 13 in northern Douglas County, washing out a large culvert and a significant portion of the roadway over Morrison Creek.

Through the emergency contracting process, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was able to expedite the work required to restore the roadway and open it to traffic on a temporary gravel surface before the Fourth of July holiday.

Motorists on WIS 13 are urged to slow down, pay attention and proceed cautiously, especially on the temporary gravel surface through the work zone area. Finishing operations along with the final asphalt driving surface will be done using flaggers.
