Governor Walker approves improvements in Appleton
July 6, 2012
Telulah Avenue Bridge over WIS 441 construction starting July 17
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed an approximately $244,000 contract to repair the approaches to the Telulah Avenue bridge over WIS 441 in Appleton, Calumet County. Work will begin Tuesday, July 17. The bridge will be closed at that time, reopening by Monday, September 3.
The general contractor for the project is LaLonde Contractors, Inc., Milwaukee, WI.
This project will replace the pavement on the approaches to the bridge and correct the profile, creating a smoother approach to the bridge. Additionally, the concrete sidewalk and railing near the bridge will also be replaced.
The bridge will be closed to traffic throughout the project and motorists will need to seek alternate routes. A signed detour route is Midway Road (County AP), Plank Road (County AP), Lake Park Road (County LP), and Calumet Street (County KK).
