Public meeting for US 45 project in Fond du Lac County

Roundabout planned for US 45/County K in the town of Empire

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the proposed reconstruction of US 45 and County K intersection in the town of Empire in Fond du Lac County. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Theisen Middle School cafeteria, 525 East Pioneer Road, Fond du Lac, WI. The meeting will follow an open house format with a short presentation at 5:10 p.m.

Local officials, property owners and other interested parties are encouraged to attend. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project and address any questions or concerns.

This is a reconstruction project scheduled for 2015. The project involves converting the easterly intersection of US 45 and County K to a roundabout. County K will be closed at the intersection throughout the project. Through traffic on US 45 will be detoured during part of the project. Local access to residences will be maintained.

Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Todd Waldo, WisDOT-DTSD, Northeast Region, 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Todd Waldo at least three working days prior to the meeting.
