WIS 34 closures, blasting scheduled in Wood County

July 17, 2012

Motorists can expect to encounter traffic stops between Wisconsin Rapids and Rudolph for up to 15 minutes

Crews plan to temporarily stop traffic on WIS 34 between Edgewood Court (Wisconsin Rapids) and Reddin Road (town of Rudolph) beginning Wednesday, July 18 for blasting operations.

Blasting operations are scheduled to occur weekdays between the hours of 9 to 10:30 a.m.; 1:30 to 3 p.m.; and 6 to 7:30 p.m. During these times, motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and slow or stopped traffic conditions for up to 15 minutes. To avoid any potential delays motorists may want to use alternate routes.

The closures are necessary to safely accommodate rock blasting for the village of Rudolph’s extension of sanitary sewer to Wisconsin Rapids.

Closures for blasting operations are currently expected to occur through Friday, August 17.

The work and closures are subject to change based on favorable weather conditions and construction status.
