Work to begin on US 2 in Ashland County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation-Superior office announces that work is beginning in the city of Ashland on Lakeshore Drive from Stuntz Avenue to 36th Avenue. Traffic control will be present tomorrow and on Thursday, July 19, work will begin.

The $1.87 million project will consist of mill and overlay work. The 2.36 mile long project is primarily contracted with Northwoods Paving.

There will be no detour; however traffic control will be down to one lane in each direction at times.

The project has a completion date of mid-October.
