Governor Walker approves WIS 22 improvements in Waushara County

July 23, 2012

As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $222,000 contract to improve 0.3 miles of WIS 22 between 16th Drive and West Prairie Street.

Construction is scheduled to begin in August 6, 2012.

Lunda Construction Company is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will install a sheet pile wall parallel to WIS 22 to stabilize the slope and protect the roadway embankment. New guard rail will also be placed along the roadway throughout the length of the project.

Construction is scheduled for completion in September 2012.

During construction, WIS 22 will be open to traffic; however motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and delays. To avoid delays motorists may want to allow extra travel time or take a different route.

Eighty percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds; the remaining 20 percent will be paid with state transportation funds.
