WisDOT conducting WIS 54, Portage County A public information meeting

July 24, 2012

Proposed intersection realignment currently scheduled for 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss the proposed intersection realignment at WIS 54 and Portage County A in the town of Lanark, Portage County.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lanark Town Hall, 7174 County Road TT, in the town of Lanark. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format. Maps and exhibits regarding the proposed intersection realignment will be on display.

The purpose of this project is to improve the safety of the intersection by making changes to the alignment, which will improve sight distance for motorists on both highways.

Property owners and local officials with information that may assist in the development of this project are encouraged to attend the meeting. WisDOT representatives will be available to answer questions.

During construction, WIS 54 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations. Portage County A will be closed to all traffic at the intersection with WIS 54 during construction. Access will be maintained to adjacent businesses and residences.

Construction is currently scheduled for summer 2014.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting.
