Governor Walker approves nearly $600,000 project at New Holstein Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $598,246 project to remodel and expand the terminal building at the New Holstein Municipal Airport in Calumet County.

Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will update the public areas of the airport terminal and make the restrooms compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The current New Holstein terminal was built in 1964.

The design project is expected to be completed this summer, with construction anticipated later this year.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $19,123
  • City of New Holstein = $19,123
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $560,000

New Holstein Municipal Airport has two runways. The primary paved runway is 3,600 feet, while the crosswind turf runway is 2,951 feet.
