Governor Walker approves more than $422,000 project at Mauston-New Lisbon Union Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $422,454 project for a new hangar taxiway at the Mauston-New Lisbon Union Airport in Juneau County.

David Montesinos, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will provide access for new hangar development, which will keep aircraft traffic off the active runway.

The design project is expected to be completed by November 2012.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $14,729
  • Mauston-New Lisbon Union Airport = $14,729
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $392,996

The Mauston-New Lisbon Airport is located midway between the cities of Mauston and New Lisbon. It has two runways; a 3,400 foot paved runway and a 1,060 foot turf strip.
