Governor Walker approves nearly $5.4 million project at Outagamie County Regional Airport

August 20, 2012

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $5,384,957 construction project to improve operations at the Outagamie County Regional Airport in Appleton.

Andrew Trimble, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will extend Taxiway ā€œNā€ to provide quicker and safer access to the departure end of Runway 30. This extension will eliminate the need for aircraft to cross an active runway. The project will also replace aging pavement on Runway 12/30, and construct a 4,175 foot perimeter road at the airport.

All projects are expected to be completed this summer.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $269,248
  • Outagamie County = $269,248
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $4,846,461

Outagamie County Regional Airport has two paved runways with full-length parallel taxiways. The primary runway is 8,000 feet; the second runway is 6,500 feet.
