Governor Walker approves WIS 47 improvements in Langlade County

August 22, 2012

As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $1.9 million contract to improve 8.6 miles of WIS 47 between US 45 and the east Langlade County line.

Construction is scheduled to begin August 27, 2012.

American Asphalt of Wisconsin is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will mill and pave WIS 47.

During construction, WIS 47 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter weekday flagging operations and minor. To avoid delays motorists may want to allow extra travel time or take a different route.

Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2012.

Eighty percent of the project will be paid with federal transportation funds; the remaining 20 percent will be paid with state transportation funds.
