I-535/Blatnik Bridge traffic switch scheduled August 27 in Duluth

Duluth, Minnesota — The Duluth-bound lanes on the Interstate 535/Blatnik Bridge, which is undergoing a two-year maintenance project,will reopen to traffic Monday morning, August 27. The Superior-bound lanes will close Monday afternoon, August 27, and will remain closed until October 19.
Superior-bound motorists may use the Bong Bridge as an alternate route.
Duluth-bound motorists may encounter temporary, single-lane closures until October 19 or whenever the project ends for the season.
If weather allows, some painting may continue on the bridge after October 19 and motorists may encounter temporary, single-lane closures.
Work will resume in May 2013 on the two-year rehabilitation project.
