Governor Walker approves WIS 96 improvements in Wrightstown

Highway will be closed for approximately two weeks during construction
As part of his efforts to create jobs and make sure Wisconsin is open for business, Governor Scott Walker recently signed a $1.1 million contract to improve two miles of WIS 96 from Shanty Road in Wrightstown to Lagoon Road on the west side of Greenleaf, Brown County. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, September 10 and be completed in mid-October of this year.
The general contractor for the project is Northeast Asphalt, Greenville.
This project will provide new pavement, shoulder widening, guard rail replacement, culvert pipe replacement, and pavement marking.
The road will be closed to through traffic for two weeks beginning Tuesday, September 11. Local access will be maintained to businesses and residences. The detour route is County D, County Z and WIS 32/57. Following this closure, the road will reopen to through traffic but may be reduced to one lane with flagging.
Motorists are advised to remain alert and use caution when driving through this or any workzone.
