Public meeting for central segment of I-39/90 Project, Rock County
September 5, 2012
Central segment extends from just south of Janesville to Dane/Rock County line
A public information meeting will occur on Wednesday, September 19 to introduce the central segment of the I-39/90 Project and its goals to reconstruct and expand Interstate 39/90 from County O, just south of Janesville, to the Dane/Rock County line. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marshall Middle School (cafeteria), 25 South Pontiac Drive, Janesville, WI 53545. A formal presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting will present preliminary design information for planned improvements, which includes the complete reconstruction and expansion of I-39/90 to eight (8) lanes from County O to WIS 26 and six (6) lanes from WIS 26 to the Dane/Rock County line. Four (4) interchanges will be reconstructed: WIS 11 (East Racine Street), US 14, WIS 26 and WIS 59. Improvements will also include replacement of aging overpass structures along the corridor. These segment improvements are part of the I-39/90 expansion project from the Illinois state line to the US 12/18 interchange near Madison.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions regarding this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
