Bridge work on Clairemont Avenue to begin

Motorists travelling on Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire over the Chippewa River should be prepared to slow down for a project on the bridge that begins today.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is placing an epoxy overlay on the bridge that will extend the life of the bridge deck and make for a safer driving surface by creating more traction on the roadway.

Work will be done over the next two weekends when traffic is not as heavy. There will be single lane closures on Friday and Mondays and two lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday-both weekends.
