Public meeting scheduled for WIS 52 in Wausau

Proposed improvements currently scheduled to begin in 2015

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to WIS 52 from 17th Avenue to 1st Street in Wausau.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 19, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Wausau City Hall, 407 Grant Street, Wausau. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., the remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.

Proposed improvements include resurfacing and reconditioning the roadway and replacement of deteriorated storm sewer inlets. Construction is currently scheduled for spring 2015 and should be completed by fall 2015. WIS 52 will remain open to at least one lane of traffic in each direction during construction.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions. Maps and exhibits showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project on an individual basis.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting.
