US 41 Project lane closures for September 17 – September 22

Traffic restrictions in Brown and Winnebago counties
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing US 41 Project lane restrictions for September 17 – September 22 in Brown and Winnebago counties. In Brown County, the US-41/Main Avenue interchange in De Pere will close for 60 days starting Monday, September 17. Various overnight full freeway and ramp closures, between Mason Street and Velp Avenue, will also occur Monday, September 17 through Thursday, September 20. Drivers should to be aware of 11-foot wide lanes and reduced speed limits in both counties. WisDOT urges all motorists to use caution while traveling through any work zone.
US 41
Winnebago County
WIS 21 – US 45
September 17:
- Single lane of northbound US 41, between WIS 21 and US 45, closed overnight Monday, September 17 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for access to the work zone.
US 45 – Breezewood Lane
September 17 – 21:
- Single lane of the northbound US 41 off-ramp to WIS 76, closed continuously Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 21 for roadway work on WIS 76.
- Various lanes of north and southbound WIS 76, between Indian Point Road and Green Valley Road, and left lane of the southbound US 41 off-ramp to WIS 76, closed Monday, September 17 through Friday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work structure work.
Brown County
Scheuring Road – Oneida Street
September 17 – 21:
- Various lanes of north and southbound US 41, between two miles south of Scheuring Road and Hansen Road, closed Monday, September 17 through Thursday, September 20 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, September 21 from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. for median work.
September 17 – 22:
- Various lanes of the northbound US 41 off-ramp to Ashland Avenue closed continuously from Monday, September 17 through Saturday, September 22 for bridge work.
Lombardi Avenue – I-43
September 17:
- Complete closure of northbound US 41, between Mason Street and Dousman Street, and the northbound US 41 on-ramp from Mason Street, Monday, September 17 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The detour route will be east on Mason Street to Military Avenue, Military Avenue north to Shawano Avenue, west on Shawano Avenue to US 41.
- Complete closure of the northbound US 41 on-ramp from Velp Avenue, Monday, September 17 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to set temporary barrier wall.
September 18:
- Complete closure of north and southbound US 41, between Shawano Avenue and Velp Avenue,
Tuesday, September 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The northbound US 41 on-ramp from Dousman Street and
the southbound US 41 on-ramp from Velp Avenue will also be closed.
- Northbound US 41 traffic will be detoured east on Shawano Avenue to Military Avenue, north on Military Avenue to Velp Avenue, west on Velp Avenue to US 41.
- Southbound US 41 traffic will be detoured east on Velp Avenue to Military Avenue, south on Military Avenue to Shawano Avenue, west on Shawano Avenue to US 41.
September 19:
- Complete closure of southbound US 41, between Velp Avenue and Mason Street, Wednesday,
September 19 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The southbound US 41 on-ramps from Shawano Avenue and Velp
Avenue will also be closed.
- Southbound US 41 traffic will be detoured east on Velp Avenue to Military Avenue, south on Military Avenue to Mason Street, west on Mason Street to US 41.
- Shawano Avenue traffic traveling to southbound US 41 will be detoured east on Shawano Avenue to Military Avenue, south on Military Avenue to Mason Street, west on Mason Street to southbound US 41.
September 20:
- The northbound US 41 on-ramp from Dousman Street, closed Thursday, September 20 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. WIS 29 traffic traveling to northbound US 41 will be detoured east on Shawano Avenue to Military Avenue, Military Avenue north to Velp Avenue, west on Velp Avenue to northbound US 41.
September 17 – 21:
- Various lanes of north and southbound US 41, between Lombardi Avenue and I-43, closed Monday, September 17 through Thursday, September 20 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday, September 21 from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. for setting temporary barrier wall and bridge work.
WIS 29
September 18 - 21:
- Various lanes of east and westbound WIS 29, between County FF and Packerland Drive, closed Tuesday, September 18 through Thursday, September 20 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday, September 21 from 6 a.m. to noon for access into the workzone.
September 20:
- Single lane of east and westbound WIS 29, between US 41 and Taylor Street, closed Thursday, September 20 from 8 a.m. to noon for landscaping in the median.
Lakeview Drive bridge
September 17 – 20:
- Various lanes of southbound US 41, between Lineville Road and I-43, closed Monday, September 17 through Thursday, September 20 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for demolition of the Lakeview Drive bridge over US 41.
I-43/Leo Frigo Bridge
Brown County
- I-43 at the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge is reduced to a single lane of traffic with speeds reduced to 55 mph in both directions over a 3.5-mile segment of the highway through November 2012. Expect significant travel delays.
