WisDOT schedules WIS 70 public information meeting
September 28, 2012
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to WIS 70 between WIS 155 and Vilas County O in the town of Saint Germain.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 11 at the town of Saint Germain Community Center, 545 WIS 155, Saint Germain, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. A brief presentation covering the purpose and need for the project and the proposed improvements is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Proposed improvements include resurfacing the highway by milling and overlaying the surface with asphalt, reconstructing curb and gutter along the east side of the road, and reconstructing ditches along the west side between WIS 155 and Patton Road. The culvert at Little Saint Germain Creek will be replaced. These improvements will address storm water drainage and related safety issues along the corridor.
The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2016 but could occur as early as 2015.
The Saint Germain Community Center is wheelchair accessible. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at (715) 421-8380 at least three working days prior to the meeting.
