Meeting scheduled for US 141/County E intersection in Oconto County

Highway work taking place in 2014

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the US 141 and County E intersection, Oconto County. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Abrams Town Hall, 5877 Main Street, Abrams, WI 54101. A short presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and the remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.

Project representatives will be available to discuss the proposed project and address any questions or concerns. Local officials, property owners and other interested parties are encouraged to attend.

The project is scheduled to begin in spring 2014. The work consists of reconstructing the horizontal curves on US 141 just north of the Pensaukee River and modifying the intersection between US 141 and County E. Some intersection turning movements may be altered to improve safety.

The roadway is being closed to through traffic during the curve reconstruction and a detour will be posted. Access will be maintained to adjacent properties during construction. New right-of-way and temporary easements are also needed as part of the project.

The town hall is wheelchair accessible.  Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting the project manager Kristin Van Hout at least three working days prior to the meeting.
