US 41 Project lane closures for October 29 to November 2

Traffic restrictions in Brown and Winnebago counties

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing US 41 Project lane restrictions for October 29 to November 2 in Brown and Winnebago counties. Drivers should to be aware of 11-foot wide lanes and reduced speed limits in both counties. WisDOT urges all motorists to use caution while traveling through any work zone. Details of all closures are included below.

Winnebago County

US 41
Drivers will encounter overnight single lane closures on northbound US 41, from US 45 to WIS 114, on Thursday, November 1 between the hours of 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. In addition, the northbound US 41 on-ramp from Breezewood Lane will close Wednesday night, October 31 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

Brown County

US 41
Drivers will encounter overnight single lane closures on north and southbound US 41, from south of Schuering Road to Lineville Road throughout the week between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. In addition, the northbound US 41 off-ramp to Shawano Avenue will close Monday night, October 29 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. The following detour route will be in place:

  • Northbound US 41 traffic wanting to access WIS 29 will exit at Mason Street, follow Mason Street west to Packerland Drive and take Packerland Drive north to WIS 29.

County G (Main Avenue)
Construction on Main Avenue and the interchange in De Pere is progressing on schedule. The 60-day closure of the roadway and ramps allowing for this expedited work is reaching its halfway point. The roadway construction progress is dependent on weather conditions, but at this time is on schedule to open to traffic in mid-November.

WIS 29
Drivers should anticipate daytime single lane closures on east and westbound WIS 29, between Packerland Drive and County FF throughout the week. All closures will occur between the hours of 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. Additionally, overnight closures will occur early in the week between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Dousman Street
Dousman Street, between US 41 and Taylor Street will close to traffic on or before November 5 and traffic will be switched onto the new Shawano Avenue bypass. This closure was originally scheduled to occur in mid-October.

I-43/Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge
I-43 at the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge is reduced to a single lane of traffic with speeds reduced to 55 mph in both directions over a 3.5-mile segment of the highway through mid-November 2012. Expect significant travel delays. In addition, a traffic switch and ramp opening are scheduled to occur this week.

  • Wednesday, October 31 – Southbound I-43 traffic will be shifted from the northbound lanes to the southbound lanes and the southbound I-43 off-ramp to Webster Avenue will reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The northbound I-43 on-ramp from Webster Avenue and southbound I-43 on-ramp from Atkinson Drive will remain closed through mid-November.

All lane restrictions and work operations are subject to change.
