US 10/WIS 80 roundabout open to traffic, crews removing detour
October 30, 2012
Central Avenue/Heritage Drive roundabout scheduled for completion in late November
Crews opened the new US 10/WIS 80/Klondike Road roundabout, south of Marshfield, to all traffic October 29 and are in the process of removing the detour. WIS 80 at this location had been detoured since mid-July.
The roundabout is part of the US 10 Marshfield to Stevens Point four-lane expansion project. This section of the project included the construction of a four-lane divided highway between Klondike Drive and Wood County BB. Roundabouts were constructed at the new US 10/County BB intersection (which was completed and open to traffic in mid-July), and the Central Avenue/Heritage Drive intersection.
The Central Avenue/Heritage Drive roundabout is scheduled for completion in late November. Heritage Drive (old US 10) from Central Avenue to approximately .25 miles to the east remains closed. Access is maintained for adjacent property owners except for brief periods of storm sewer, grading or concrete work.
