Traffic switch to new pavement in Winnebago County

October 31, 2012

Speed limits return to 65 mph after November 1

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing that traffic will be shifted onto the newly paved lanes of northbound US 41 from Snell Road to north of Breezewood Lane overnight Thursday, November 1 in Winnebago County.

Following the traffic switch, northbound US 41 will return to a 65 mph speed limit from US 45 to Breezewood Lane. Southbound US 41 will remain at the 55 mph speed limit while crews continue with paving patches, crossovers, and median barrier to complete the project.

This work is part of a $45 million project to reconstruct and expand eight miles of US 41 between US 45 and Breezewood Lane. Construction on this segment of US 41 began in March 2011 and is scheduled to be complete by May 2013.

Motorists are reminded to remain alert and use caution when traveling through this or any work zone.

All lane restrictions and work operations are subject to change.
