Governor Walker approves $9 million project at Central Wisconsin Airport

November 15, 2012

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $9,008,722 project for a terminal building addition to the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee.

Eric Johnson, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the multi-story west terminal addition and renovation of the adjacent current building is the first of a proposed three-phase terminal project at Central Wisconsin Airport. This addition will provide the space needed for the terminal to remain operational during the next construction phase.

Construction on the west addition is underway and is expected to be completed by October 2013.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $500,000
  • Marathon and Portage counties = $2,007,848
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $6,500,874

Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) has two paved runways. The primary runway is 7,650 feet, while the second runway is 6,300 feet.
