Traffic alert: Drexel Avenue bridge over I-94 set to open today

November 20, 2012

Ramps and interchange opening slated next week

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing the opening of the Drexel Avenue bridge over I-94 in the city of Oak Creek. Signage installation is underway and the bridge is expected to open by the end of the day today, November 20.

The new interchange ramps at I-94 and Drexel Avenue will open next week, weather permitting.

WisDOT is joining the city of Oak Creek at a ribbon cutting today at 1 p.m. on the bridge to celebrate the near completion of the Drexel Avenue projects. The city plans to finalize and open the reconstruction project of Drexel Avenue from 27th Street to I-94 this week as well.

Motorists are encouraged to watch signage in the area until the interchange is completely open.
