Merrimac Ferry closed 9 a.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday

The Merrimac Ferry along WIS 113 between Columbia and Sauk County will be closed from 9 a.m. Thursday (December 20) to 9 a.m. Friday (December 21) due to expected high winds.

At this time the ferry is anticipated to resume operation Friday and continue until ice forms on the Wisconsin River.

Flashing lights along local state highways are activated when the ferry is out of service. The lights are located at WIS 60 and I-90/94, WIS 19 and WIS 113, WIS 78 and WIS 113, WIS 78 and I-90/94 and at US 12 and County K.

Motorists are encouraged call 511 or log onto Wisconsin 511 online for the latest traffic updates.
