Merrimac Ferry closed for the season

The Merrimac Ferry along WIS 113 between Columbia and Sauk County is closed for the season.

The ferry’s 2012 operating season ran from March 14 to December 23 and carried more than 282,000 vehicles across the Wisconsin River between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County.

Flashing lights along local state highways indicate the ferry is out of service. The lights are located at WIS 60 and I-90/94, WIS 19 and WIS 113, WIS 78 and WIS 113, WIS 78 and I-90/94, and at US 12 and County K.

Motorists are encouraged call 511 or log onto Wisconsin 511 online for the latest traffic updates.
