Meeting to focus on proposed improvements to the intersection

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northwest Region in Superior is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the proposed improvements to the intersection of WIS 35 and WIS 70 in Burnett County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 21 at the Burnett County Government Center, 7410 County Road K, Siren, Wisconsin. The meeting will follow an open house format with a brief project overview presentation at 5:30 p.m.

The proposed project includes reconstructing the intersection of WIS 35 and WIS 70 to a modern roundabout to address safety problems and improve traffic flow. Construction is currently scheduled for 2014. WIS 35 and WIS 70 will remain open during construction.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
