Public meeting for Newville area of I-39/90 Project, Rock County

Meeting to focus on plans from Newville Road to Dane/Rock County line

A public information meeting will occur on Wednesday, February 20 to discuss plans for the reconstruction and expansion of I-39/90 in the Newville area from Newville Road north to the Dane/Rock County line. The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fulton Town Hall, 2738 W. Fulton Center Drive, Edgerton, WI 53534 (at US 51 and County M intersection). A formal presentation will be begin at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting will present preliminary plans for the Newville area that include:

  • Expanding I-39/90 to six (6) lanes;
  • Replacing the Rock River bridges;
  • Constructing a new diamond interchange at WIS 59 with roundabouts at the ramp terminals and Goede Road intersection; and
  • Removing the Goede Road bridge over I-39/90 and constructing a frontage road on the west side of the Interstate that connects to Hemenway Lane and WIS 59.

These proposed improvements are part of the I-39/90 expansion project from the Illinois state line to the US 12/18 interchange near Madison.

Area residents and businesses are encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions regarding the project. Maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
