Public meeting scheduled for WIS 144 in Sheboygan County

Construction on seven miles of highway begins in 2015

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a second public information meeting for the improvement of approximately 7 miles of WIS 144 from WIS 28 to WIS 57 in Sheboygan County. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 19 at the Silver Creek Fire Station Hall at W6566 WIS 144, Silver Creek. It is being held as an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. with a brief presentation at 5:15 p.m.

The project is currently scheduled to be built in 2015. It includes resurfacing the existing pavement, shoulder repair, box culvert/pipe replacements and intersection improvements at Riverview Road, County DE, Lynn Road and County I. This work will also require some real estate acquisition and driveway relocations. The highway will be closed to through traffic during the project, but access to all businesses and residences will be maintained. Additionally, cross traffic will be maintained at side roads.

The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions and provide comments.

The meeting site is wheelchair accessible. Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and who require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kyle Treml at least three working days prior to the hearing.
