WIS 22 bridge replacement meeting scheduled

March 13, 2013

Public input needed on proposed improvements, detour during construction

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to provide information regarding the proposed bridge replacement on WIS 22 over a tributary to Shawano Lake. The bridge is located between WIS 55 (Shawano) and WIS 117 (Cecil). The existing bridge is nearing the end of its service life and requires replacement.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Community Room at the Shawano City Hall, 127 South Sawyer Street, Shawano. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. Local community officials, property and business owners, and other interested parties are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The objective of the meeting is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain input on the proposed bridge replacement and detour.

Construction is scheduled for 2014. WisDOT proposes to close the road to traffic for approximately two months via WIS 55, WIS 29 and WIS 117.

Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting.
