Governor Walker approves nearly $325,000 for project at Viroqua Municipal Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $324,562 project to design and construct a new snow removal equipment building at the Viroqua Municipal Airport in Vernon County.
Stacey Miller, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the approximately 4,800 square foot building will provide space for equipment maintenance and storage.
Design work is expected to begin this spring, with construction scheduled for completion in late 2014.
Funding Breakdown
- State = $12,281
- City of Viroqua = $12,281
- Federal Aviation Administration = $300,000
Viroqua Municipal Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan (SASP). The airport is classified as a small general aviation airport, meaning it primarily supports single-engine aircraft.
