RIDESHARE program encourages "Bike Buddies"
April 22, 2013
Commuting together by bicycle highlighted during Earth Week April 21 to 27
The RIDESHARE program of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) promotes environmental awareness by bringing commuters together for carpooling and bicycle commuting.
In line with one of WisDOT’s core goals of preservation of the environment while enhancing transportation, during Earth Week of April 21 to 27, interested bicyclists of all proficiency levels are encouraged to register with Wisconsin RIDESHARE’s "Bike Buddies" program. Indicate a bike buddy match preference – someone to be matched up to ride with – and receive a free reflective bike band to be worn on the arm or leg.
Riding to work with a companion can be an enjoyable way to get exercise, save on gas and emissions, and to help the environment.
