WIS 16 work begins Sunday night

Road will be closed Sunday to Friday

Highway 16 construction near the Valley View Mall in La Crosse is scheduled to begin Sunday night.

Highway 16 will be closed between Highway 157 and South Kinney Coulee Road starting 7 p.m. Sunday (April 28) until noon Friday (May 3).

The signed detour route uses Highway 157 and I-90.

The Highway 157 and South Kinney Coulee intersections will remain open during construction.

The $1.7 million project will repair deteriorating concrete and overlay the existing pavement with asphalt.

Highway 16 is scheduled for closure again May 5 to 10. Nighttime single lane closures are expected May 12 to 22.
