Most highways reported to be in good winter driving condition
The snow continues to fall, but plowing operations throughout the day have cleared many highways and most of them in the northwest region are reported in good winter driving condition.
Winter Storm and Winter Weather advisories continue for a portion of the region until tomorrow and crews will continue to monitor and respond as necessary. However, motorists are still encouraged to plan ahead and be prepared for scattered slippery stretches and slushy areas.
Late this afternoon, towing operations resumed and many of the motorists who were in ditches along I-94 and US 53 were removed.
Motorists can check road conditions and construction information by calling 5-1-1 or visiting Wisconsin 511 online. Winter driving tips can be found on WisDOT’s web site. Traffic updates are also posted on Twitter.
