WIS 77 in Hurley open to traffic

WIS 77 (Silver Street) – between US 51 (Hurley) and the Michigan border – was reopened yesterday (May 2) afternoon, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The bridge over the Montreal River had been closed as a safety precaution for approximately one day due to rising waters.

After the water levels receded and following a bridge inspection on May 2, bridge crews determined the bridge was safe to reopen.

Motorists can check Wisconsin 511 online for updates on highway conditions before traveling.
