RIDESHARE program promotes "Bike Buddies"
May 13, 2013
Bicycle commuting is "pedaled" during Bike to Work Week, May 12 to 18
The RIDESHARE program of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) promotes biking as a healthy mode of transportation by bringing riders together for bicycle commuting.
During Bike to Work Week, May 12 to 18, interested bicyclists of all proficiency levels are encouraged to register with the Wisconsin RIDESHARE "Bike Buddies" program. For first-time registrants, indicate a bike buddy match preference – someone to be matched up to ride with – and receive a free reflective bike band to be worn on the arm or leg.
Bicycling to work with a companion can be an enjoyable way to get exercise and help the environment by saving on gas and emissions.
