State suspends license of Menasha area auto dealer

January 17, 2014

Violation resulted in five-day suspension

The motor vehicle dealer license of a Menasha area dealership was suspended temporarily by the state of Wisconsin. An investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Division of Motor Vehicles Dealer and Agent Section found that Sunshine Auto Sales, W7223 Highway 10 and 114, Menasha, violated state law by continuing to offer vehicles for sale while its motor vehicle dealer license was under suspension.

The state Department of Administration’s Division of Hearings and Appeals found that this violation warranted the suspension of Sunshine Auto Sales’ motor vehicle dealer’s license for five calendar days. The suspension began on January 7, 2014 and ended on January 12, 2014.

While suspended, the dealership could not engage in any activity that required a motor vehicle dealer license. Any future violations could result in the loss of the dealership’s motor vehicle dealer license. Sunshine Auto Sales agreed to allow agents or employees of WisDOT to inspect all business records necessary to verify compliance with the Order Suspending License.
