Public information meeting for WIS 134 in Dane County
January 23, 2014
Meeting to focus on safety improvements in the WIS 134 corridor
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss safety improvements to WIS 134 between US 12 and County O in Dane County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5 at the Cambridge Village Hall, located at 200 Spring Street.
The proposed project improvements include reconstructing WIS 134 from 200 feet south of State Farm Road to 200 feet north of Britzke Road. The horizontal curves in this area will be flattened to improve safety and meet design standards. The State Farm Road and Britzke Road intersections will be realigned. WIS 134 will also be resurfaced from US 12 to the south reconstruction limit and from the north reconstruction limit to the Main Street intersection in London. In addition, this project includes removing and replacing the 6x6-foot box culvert located 750 feet south of the Britzke Road intersection, and the replacement of 5 small cross culverts. Right of way acquisition will be required in the reconstruction area and at spot locations in the resurfacing areas. The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2016.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. Representatives from the consulting firm of Donohue & Associates, Inc. and WisDOT will be available to answer questions and listen to comments.
