The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss a proposed bridge replacement located on westbound WIS 29 over the Embarrass River in the town of Morris, Shawano County.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Morris Town Hall, W15320 Berg Road, Tigerton. The objective of the meeting is to provide updated information about the proposed improvements and to obtain the public’s input on the proposed improvements, construction staging, and traffic management strategies during construction.
Proposed improvements include:
- Replacing the aging bridge in its current location.
- Replacing the existing pavement on either side of the bridge.
- Widening the bridge 4 feet to meet current standards.
Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2016.
WisDOT is proposing to shift westbound WIS 29 traffic to the eastbound lanes during construction. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph through the work zone.
