Reminder – Significant lane closures planned for US 41 in Outagamie County
April 14, 2014
Overnight lane closures begin tonight and will reduce roadway to one lane in each direction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region in Green Bay is providing this reminder that full lane closures on US 41 at the US 41/WIS 47 (N. Richmond Street) interchange in Outagamie County begin tonight. These closures will reduce both US 41 northbound and southbound to one lane with traffic diverted onto the interchange ramps.
- Northbound lanes – Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both days
- Southbound lanes – Tuesday, April 15 and Wednesday, April 16 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both days
- WIS 47 (Richmond Street) will also be closed during these times where it crosses US 41.
These closures are necessary so girders can be placed on the northbound portion of the bridge that was removed earlier this year.
Please note WIS 47 where it crosses US 41 will be closed during this time as well. The full detour route is WIS 47/County OO or County JJ/County E.
Motorists should anticipate backups on US 41 at this location, use caution and remain alert to signing directions.
The $4.2 million project will raise the clearance under the bridge from 15 feet to 16 feet 9 inches minimum. This is the last bridge along US 41 in Outagamie County to be raised. The bridge deck is also being widened from 39 feet to 39 feet 11 inches and the lanes are being reconfigured to add a separated bike/pedestrian lane. Work is expected to be completed in October.
