WIS 73 reconstruction to start April 22 in Dane County

April 15, 2014

Road to be closed to through traffic. Alternate routes required.

Construction on WIS 73, from Interstate 39/90 north to US 12/18 near Deerfield, is scheduled to start on Tuesday, April 22. During the project, WIS 73 will be closed to through traffic in this work zone until November 2014. Through travelers are required to use alternate routes. A signed detour route will utilize I-39/90 and US 12/18.

The WIS 73 and WIS 106 intersection, just north of I-39/90, will be reconstructed first and open to traffic by early June. All lane restrictions and work operations are weather-dependent and subject to change.

The project will address roadway deficiencies including poor pavement conditions, drainage issues, substandard vertical and horizontal alignments and intersection safety along WIS 73.

The $10.4 million project is expected to be completed in November 2014.
