Governor Walker approves snow removal equipment building project at Land O’ Lakes Airport
May 12, 2014
Governor Scott Walker today announced a $517,194 project to construct a new snow removal equipment building at King’s Land O’ Lakes Airport in Vilas County.
Dan Brugman, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the new building will replace an inefficient storage shed that currently houses the airport’s snow removal equipment. It will be located near the terminal building on newly acquired airport land. This project also includes ongoing tree trimming operations to maintain safe runway approaches.
- State = $20,517
- Town of Land O’ Lakes = $20,518
- Federal Aviation Administration = $476,159
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014 or early 2015.
King’s Land O’ Lakes Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
