Meeting to focus on preliminary designs for improvement of WIS 54
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region in Green Bay is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the improvement of 5.3 miles of WIS 54 from WIS 57/54 interchange to the east county line in Brown County. The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11 at the Scott Town Hall, 2621 Jody Drive, New Franken, WI. A brief presentation is planned for 6:10 p.m.
Construction plans include milling, pulverizing, and paving WIS 54, intersection improvements, curb and gutter repair, and culvert pipe and beam guard replacement. Asphalt shoulder repair and spot location concrete replacement on the southeast off-ramp of the WIS 57/54 interchange are also part of the project. No new right-of-way is anticipated to be needed for this project, currently scheduled for summer 2017.
WIS 54 will be closed and detoured during construction, but local access to all residences and businesses will be maintained. The detour will be WIS 57, County K, County AB, WIS 54.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. Design concepts to be discussed include the final roadway configuration, drainage, shoulders and intersection improvements. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be displayed and WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
