Railroad crossing improvements in western Wood County will close, detour WIS 54 next week

Crews from Wisconsin Central Ltd plan to close WIS 54 between Kurt Creek Road and Wood County E (town of Hiles), beginning Monday, June 16 at 7 a.m. The closure is necessary for crews to reconstruct the WIS 54 railroad crossing.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured via WIS 80, WIS 173, WIS 21 and I-94. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
Work is scheduled for completion on Friday, June 20, by 5 p.m. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and construction status.
