More DMV service centers offer title, plate and registration services for heavy trucks
July 8, 2014
The additional locations provide customers with more options – particularly in northern Wisconsin
Recently the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) expanded the number of service centers handling heavy truck title, registration and plate processing. "Heavy trucks" are defined as trucks (in excess of 8000 pounds), tractors, buses and trailers — except those under the International Registration Plan (IRP).
Customers looking for heavy truck title, plate and registration services now have more than a dozen options around the state. New locations providing these services include Appleton, Green Bay, Rhinelander, Rice Lake, Wausau, and on August 1, the Eau Claire DMV on Melby Street. They join eight locations that already handle titles, plates and registration for heavy trucks: four in Milwaukee, two in Madison, Waukesha and La Crosse.
For a complete list of DMV service center locations and products that are available at a particular DMV office, visit the WisDOT website.
Remember that many services don’t require a trip to a service center and can be found online at the official Wisconsin DMV website.
