Popular Wisconsin tourist destinations served by general aviation airports

July 30, 2014

Governor Walker proclaims July 28  to  August 3 Aviation Week

A growing number of tourists are taking advantage of the many general service airports located in popular tourist destinations. They provide easy access for people wanting to fly to their favorite vacation spot. Commercial airlines don’t service general aviation airports, so tourists flying into them are using private planes (owned or rented) or using a charter service.

Some of the general aviation airports that serve heavily-visited Wisconsin tourist destinations include:

  • Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Airport
  • Door County Cherryland Airport
  • Eagle River Union Airport
  • Ephraim-Gibraltar Airport
  • Lakeland Airport / Noble F. Lee Memorial Field
  • Rice Lake Regional Airport – Carl’s Field
  • Sawyer County Airport
  • Washington Island Airport
