WIS 13, WIS 80 bridge improvements begin next week in Wood County

August 4, 2014

Bridge improvements on WIS 13 at the Ten Mile Creek Bridge (between Adams and Wisconsin Rapids), and on WIS 80 at the Owl Creek Bridge and the Dexterville Ditch Bridge (between Babcock and Pittsville) are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11.

Zenith Tech Inc., of Waukesha is the prime contractor for the $614,000 project.

Improvements to the WIS 13 bridge over Ten Mile Creek includes a new concrete overlay. This work is currently scheduled for completion by September 9, 2014.

Improvements to the WIS 80 bridges include new concrete overlays and new end treatments for the beam guard. Work on WIS 80 is currently scheduled for completion by mid-October 2014.

During construction, WIS 13 and WIS 80 will be reduced to one lane of traffic at the bridges using temporary signals. Motorists are reminded to slow down as they approach the work zone and be prepared for potential delays.

Eighty percent of the project will be paid for with federal transportation funds; the remaining 20 percent will be paid for with state transportation funds.
