Northbound US 14 ramp to westbound Beltline set to close for 25 days

August 11, 2014

Southbound Park Street ramp to eastbound Beltline re-opens Wednesday

The northbound Highway 14 ramp to the westbound Beltline will be closed starting 8 p.m. Sunday (August 10) for 25 days. Motorists must use alternate routes. The posted detour route is east to the Rimrock Road interchange.

The southbound Park Street ramp to the eastbound Beltline is scheduled to open by 6 a.m. on Wednesday (August 13). The ramp has been closed since July.

Motorists are urged to use caution near the work zones. Rear-end collisions caused primarily by speeding, distracted driving and tailgating are the most frequent type of crash in work zones.

For up-to-the-minute information on work zones and incidents that may affect highway travel, motorists can use the state’s 511 travel information system by dialing 511 on a phone or visiting Wisconsin 511 online. Statewide travel information is also now available via Twitter-Wisconsin 511. Easy links to various 511 Twitter sites, as well as to other WisDOT social media sites, are available on WisDOT’s Stay Connected webpage. To eliminate distractions while behind the wheel, drivers should use mobile communication devices only when their vehicle is completely stopped and off the traveled portion of the roadway.
