Governor Walker approves improvement project at Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Airport

Governor Scott Walker today announced a $394,445 project to reconstruct some hangar taxiways at the Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Airport.

Kim Kaarto, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the project will replace failing pavements, improve drainage, relocate utilities and other related work.

Funding Breakdown

  • State = $19,722
  • City of Baraboo = $19,723
  • Federal Aviation Administration = $355,000

The project is expected to be completed by fall of 2014.

Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells Airport is one of 98 facilities included in the Wisconsin State Airport System Plan, which makes it eligible for state and federal funding. Airport improvement projects are administered through WisDOT’s Bureau of Aeronautics.
