US 12 (WIS 26-Whitewater) Corridor - Schedule

Note - WisDOT has stopped all work on the study of a future US 12 Bypass through the town of Koshkonong south of Fort Atkinson. The final disposition of the study will be determined at a future date by the Transportation Projects Commission. (May 3, 2012)

Current

• May 3, 2012 - WisDOT has stopped all work on the study of a future US 12 Bypass through the town of Koshkonong south of Fort Atkinson. The final disposition of the study will be determined at a future date by the Transportation Projects Commission.
• Publication of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS)
• Record of Decision (ROD) signed
• Study scheduled to be completed
• 2012-2013 - Officially map future bypass corridor

Future

• 2013 - Officially map future bypass corridor continued
• 2016 - Interim improvements to existing US 12
• To be determined (TBD) - When traffic and safety conditions warrant the need to construct the bypass, the EIS will be re-evaluated to account for any changes in conditions. This would be done before construction can begin.
• TBD - A public hearing will be held prior to recording the official map
